Bring the kids, the dog, ramble around Leigh Woods then hang your wellies at the door and enjoy idyllic countryside fare at our friendly local: welcome to The George Inn at Abbots Leigh.
That’s what we did in 2014, when given the keys to our sprawling coach house just over a mile from the Iconic Clifton Suspension Bridge in the fabulous village of Abbots Leigh. A roaring fire, cask ales and a family-friendly beer garden were at the top of our list. Our wonderful garden includes a kids assault course to keep your little darlings entertained while you take the weight off and enjoy our delightful offerings from "The Friars Tuck" which houses our wood fired Pizza oven and Barbecue. In the kitchens we serve the dishes that made our first pub, Somerset House, famous. Driven by our trademark perfection, we kept working until we’d created the finest country local in the South West. And by George; we think we managed it.
After a long afternoon rambling across the fantastic Somerset countryside, nothing hits the spot like a crisp, cool beer. Or a hoppy, flavoursome cask ale. Or a glass from our dazzling wine selection.Drinks
Abbots Leigh is a short hop from beautiful Clifton Village, across the Avon Gorge via Brunel’s Iconic Suspension Bridge. It’s an idyllic escape from the Bristol city bustle, nestled in the heart of the wonderful village of Abbots Leigh and perfectly positioned for long walks through the rolling Somerset hills.Gallery
The George isn’t just another gastro-pub. Together with The Somerset House, we’ve worked hard to create a menu that plays on the idea of British bistro: an evolving, seasonal selection of dishes that are creative, filling and utterly delicious.Food
